I used to blog a great deal. I miss doing it mostly for myself. It was therapeutic and reflective but c'est la vie (French: such is life). I'm trying to pop out of the bubble that is busyness and work. The past can't change but I can darn sure try to change what's going on with myself.
The summer has brought a very calm part of life to me. Beyond getting a new house, there hasn't been much done (probably a little too much poker). I've probably watched too much TV (now I understand why I didn't watch so much before...such trash) and spent too much time on the internet (I am catching up on popular culture type stuff after spending the last three years of my life deep into my job).
Here's a sampling of what I like.
1) I love comedies and great comedian acts. I count early Adam Sandler movies, Amelie, Dumb & Dumber as some of my favorites. This summer season has brought us "The Hangover," which was great.
Another comedian that is great is Russell Peters. He's frickin' hilarious (and crude) with his ethnic stereotypes so you should listen to some of his acts like "Outsourced" and "Red, White and Brown" because if you don't, "somebody is gonna get hurt real bad." Other acts I recommend are Pablo Francisco and Ralphie May.
2) Music is something getting back into. Much of the time I always wonder out loud - "What is this crap?" I'm behind in figuring out what music is "popular" as I like a ton of music (except most rap and country). Here's a grouping of what I like (in no particular order) - Jack Johnson, Metallica, John Mayer, Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi, Third Day. Some singers have a few songs that I like even if they are avoided by my friends (Neil and Celine, I'm looking at you). If you've got pipes, I can enjoy listening to you.
I can go on but I'll leave you with this for now.
